AARC promotes programs and policies that benefit patients, their families, and the respiratory therapist.
Government Representation
AARC has staff members who work for you in Washington, DC, and help the Association leaders plan strategies for introducing legislation and influencing regulatory activities. We also have a well-organized Political Advocacy Contact Team, a group of over 100 respiratory therapists who are trained in lobbying and mobilizing their states’ members to advocate for respiratory therapy issues. Learn more about AARC advocacy efforts.
AARC Capitol Connection
To allow our members to comment and contact their members of Congress easily and with confidence on the issues, we maintain AARC Capitol Connection, an emailing system that allows members to write their views and offer their support on certain issues.
Public Relations
AARC represents you to the media, other organizations, the general public, and the health care industry. We have become the recognized leader and expert on respiratory care issues by such publications as USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, and HealthWeek. Additionally, we send press releases recognizing the people and projects of our organization to local media to garner attention.
Liaison Activities
AARC appoints representatives to all accrediting, credentialing, standards, medical, regulatory, and legislative organizations that may have an impact on your profession.
