We are excited that you are interested in the AARC’s Exam Prep Program! Our goal is to give you the information you need to feel well-prepared to take the Therapist Multiple Choice and Clinical Simulation examinations to earn your CRT and RRT credentials.
How the Course Works
Once you have registered for the AARC Exam Prep Program, we will send you instructions and a link to your personal NBRC storefront. You select and take one of the Therapist Multiple Choice and/or Clinical Simulation self-assessment exams. You will receive your results from the NBRC so that you have any idea of your strengths and weaknesses. Your next step is to access the My Programs page in AARC University, where the Exam Prep seminars and videos are available for you. View them all or just the ones related to the topics you need to study the most. All Exam Prep videos were developed and recorded by respiratory therapists from across the U.S. exclusively for the AARC. Each course correlates to the NBRC exam matrix, plus a course on Test Taking Strategies for both the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam and the Clinical Simulation Exam. You won’t find these videos anywhere else!
Note: The TMC and CSE self-examinations on your personalized NBRC storefront are the same self-examinations the NBRC sells in their regular store. If you are having trouble with the personalized storefront after purchasing the AARC Exam Prep Program, please contact our customer service team (972-243-2272 or info@aarc.org). Please do not purchase the NBRC TMC or CSE self-assessement examinations independently as the AARC cannot refund those costs.
Once you feel ready after completing the Exam Prep Program courses, you can use the link provided to go back to the NBRC storefront and sign up for the post test version of the self-assessment exam. Once you take that test, you will receive your results to see how much you improved.
You will have one chance to take each self-assessment exam. If you have already passed the Therapist Multiple Choice examination and have earned your CRT and would like to focus on the Clinical Simulation Examination preparation, please sign up for the Clinical Simulation self-assessment examination pre-test first. If you have not yet passed the Therapist Multiple Choice examination and earned your CRT, you are welcome to start with the pre-test of either self-assessment examination.

If you wish to earn CRCE credits for your studying, you will be able to take a post-course quiz for each of the Exam Prep seminars in AARC University. You can earn up to 31 CRCE with the AARC Exam Prep Program. Each seminar is accredited separately. The AARC Exam Prep Program is also an excellent review for respiratory therapists who are looking to refresh their knowledge while also earning CRCE credit.
