New Disease Webcast Series Kicks Off

Starting Tuesday, May 29, the AARC education team will kick off its new summer disease webcast series.

“The purpose of the summer disease series is to highlight chronic pulmonary diseases and empower respiratory therapists to actively participate in the diagnosis, treatment, and education necessary for these patients to live the best quality of life,” said Shawna Strickland, PhD, RRT, FAARC, AARC associate executive director of member services.

For the May 29 session “The Role of the Respiratory Therapist in Cystic Fibrosis,” participants will learn about cystic fibrosis from Dabney Eidson, BS, RRT, RRT-NPS, who works with both pediatric and adult CF patients. Eidson will provide a comprehensive view of what CF patients need to have the best lung health possible. This May 29 activity has been funded through educational grants from Chiesi and Vertex Pharmaceuticals.
