Each year the AARC produces Current Topics in Respiratory Care, an eight-disc DVD team training video series that provides continuing education for recent scientific advancements and evidence-based practices in respiratory care. Each program concludes with a test which, when completed successfully, will earn the team member one hour of CRCE credit. Presented by the leaders in respiratory care, the series is designed to help managers cultivate a team of high-performing respiratory therapists that can educate patients and implement best practices in care.
Each video topic is presented as a one-hour lecture and the DVDs offer flexibility for group or individual viewings. We asked Current Topics managers to share why they like the series, and what topics drive their interest and appreciation for it. Here’s what they had to say:
“We have purchased this program for quite a few years now. As the staff watch the program and answer the questions, it gives them the opportunity to discuss with their peers and learn from each other as well.”
“Great way for education for the department. Great topics.”
“Great new information on various topics.”
“This educational program is great for our staff as usually there are several working on them together. They discuss the questions and talk about their viewpoints and the program’s viewpoints. Great learning process for staff.”
“We have purchased this program for quite a while and our staff likes them and learns from them. This also helps our new staff learn and gives our older staff time to help them with their knowledge.”
“Helps achieve CEUs for state license requirements.”
“We have purchased this program for quite a few years and the staff seems to learn and it’s also very convenient for them to watch and take tests as they have the time.”
