Gabrielle Davis, MPH, RRT-ACCS, NPS, the COPD Educator/Inpatient Tobacco Cessation Coordinator at St. Luke’s Health System-Boise, was nominated for Idaho Business Review’s Accomplished Under 40. She will be recognized at an awards ceremony on June 12. Read the story.


AARC Student Members Kim Hiatt and Teddie Neil along with Mark Lotz, MSML, RRT, were featured in a Herald-Whig article showcasing the school’s newly-won neonatal ventilator. Learn more about how this ventilator is helping the training program.


Dora Cardillo, BS, RRT-NPS, CPFT, helped perform a successful training simulation where she, along with a flight nurse, saved the ‘life’ of a high-fidelity mannequin that represented a 10-day old infant girl. Read more about their training at the Lewiston Tribune.


Laurie Niemer, MEd, RRT, of Harrison Township was appointed to the Michigan Board of Respiratory Care. According to the press release produced by the Office of Governor Rick Snyder, the 11-member board assists in overseeing the licensure requirements and standards for Michigan’s respiratory therapists. Kelly Cavins was named Hospital Employee of the Year by the Salem Township Hospital Foundation. Cavins, a respiratory therapist, has worked at the hospital the past 17 years. Read more at the WJBD Radio site.


Andrea Meador, AAS, earned Carroll Hospital’s March Patient Safety Hero Award. According to Carroll County News, Meador was “recognized for her diligence and exceptional care of a patient requiring respiratory treatment.” Read more.
