National Respiratory Care Week, Oct. 20– 26, celebrates respiratory therapists and the profession overall. Members take this time to educate their community and colleagues about what they do and the vital value respiratory therapists deliver each day to patients. In addition to your events and activities planned for the week, simple promotion and communication will help enhance your celebration efforts. We’ve compiled publicity resources to help you spread the word about #RCWEEK19.

Celebrate RC Week

Get Social

Post photos and brief descriptions of your celebration events to your social media channels, such as Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn, to help promote #RCWEEK19 to your community. Tag your posts with #RCWEEK19.

We have pre-made graphics ready for you to use with your posts. Check them out at our Respiratory Care Week page, under “Social Media.”

Spread the Word with Public Relations

Encourage your management, marketing and public relations departments to get involved in your activities and help you gain free publicity through press releases. Be sure to include facts about the RT profession. Need content ideas? Check out our “What Is An RT?” page and our “Become An RT” page as you prepare your publicity messages.

Another avenue to promote your celebration is by sending your respiratory product representatives an email about RC Week event dates and your celebration plans.

And finally, we have an AARC Member PR Kit available to provide general public relations tips. You will need to log into the site with your member information to access the kit.

Send Us Your Stories

Send the AARC your photos and stories of how you’re celebrating #RCWEEK19. We’ll include them in one or all of the following communication tools: AARC news posts, AARC Tweets, and AARC Facebook.

Send the following information to heather.willden@aarc.org:

  • Name of the facility/organization hosting the event
  • Your full name and credentials
  • Your city and state
  • Your email address
  • What you did to celebrate, in 100 words or less

National Respiratory Care Week is an exciting time to celebrate the profession through a unified effort. We look forward to learning about your celebration efforts—they’re going to be great. #RCWEEK19
