The AARC Virtual Museum received a facelift, and the new look promises to be more than just cosmetic. The improved site is more intuitive and easier to navigate from any device.
Originally launched in 2014, the website re-launch unveiled 25 galleries with more in development and coming soon. With a focus on respiratory care, the site has had a surprisingly diverse group of visitors. In addition to respiratory therapists and respiratory students, publishers, writers, museums from around the world and a film production crew have all contacted the museum for additional information after visiting the site.
A quick glance at the Contributors page shows the impressive list of contributors. Content has been curated from AARC archives, AARC members and other contributors. The Virtual Museum Committee, chaired by AARC Historian and Museum Curator Trudy Watson, continues to gather images and information to add more content to the website.
“The search for images in ongoing,” Watson said. “We have such a rich history and there is so much more to showcase in the museum; this is truly a community effort.”

In recent weeks, references to our history, such as the 1918 Influenza pandemic, have become more prevalent. We stand with all the respiratory therapists, other health care workers and essential personnel who are caring for our communities during the current pandemic. We look forward to the day when your courage, ingenuity and passion is documented in the Virtual Museum after the crisis has passed.
