Andrew West, who will be taking over as CEO of the CSRT brings a wealth of experience from his leadership position at the University of Manitoba.

Andrew West, MS, RRT, will take over as CEO of the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) on Aug. 14, with the retirement of current Executive Director Christiane Ménard.

West comes to the position from the University of Manitoba, where he served as head of the respiratory therapy department and was also involved in research. He is currently finishing up his doctoral degree at the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary.

“Throughout the recruitment process we were impressed not only by Andrew’s educational and professional experience, but also his strategic vision and direction for our association,” says CSRT President Jeff Dionne, BSc, RRT.  “There is no doubt that Andrew is well prepared for this leadership role that requires solid knowledge and understanding of the health care system and the interdependence between professional practice, education, research, and policy within the context of respiratory therapy.”
