Open Forum call for abstracts 2023

The OPEN FORUM is one of the most anticipated events at the AARC Congress. After all, where else can respiratory therapists hear about original research conducted by and for members of their profession?

For more than four decades, respiratory therapists and their colleagues have been presenting original research in the AARC OPEN FORUM. The studies presented during this annual event add to the scientific evidence supporting the profession, and RTs who submit abstracts to the FORUM further their own careers by demonstrating their commitment to enhancing the understanding of the treatments, techniques and modalities therapists use every day.

More than a presentation

RESPIRATORY CARE Managing Editor Dean Hess, PhD, RRT, FAARC, explains why the FORUM is such a popular part of the Congress during this episode of Big Ideas Theater from AARC Congress 2019.

“The dynamic is great,” said Dr. Hess, noting that it’s not just about the presentations themselves but about the exchange of ideas that happens when people view the posters together. “That’s an opportunity for all of us to mingle, to share ideas, to drill down a bit on the subject matter that might be on the poster.”

Three ways to present

The FORUM offers posters-only sessions, poster discussion sessions and an Editors’ Choice session featuring the top abstracts submitted that year. Everyone from seasoned investigators to first-time researchers can find a place to showcase their work.

Abstracts for this year’s FORUM in Nashville, TN. are due June 1, 2023. Begin preparing your abstract now.
