Mandy De Vries was recently promoted from Director of Education to Vice President of Education for the AARC. Over the last year, De Vries has brought expertise to the education department, where she is already making a difference in developing new courses and establishing an annual calendar to update existing ones.
“Mandy is relentless in her pursuit of communicating the value of the AARC to our members,” said COO Doug Laher. “This is no more evident than in the constant feedback we receive from members and non-members alike following their interactions with Mandy at state meetings. Mandy is exceptionally deserving of this opportunity.”
De Vries, an RRT, came to the AARC back in August of 2022. Before then, she served as an adjunct educator and ECMO specialist at the Medical University of South Carolina where she split her time between patient care and developing a respiratory care curriculum for a hospital-based RT program. She also served as an adjunct professor at Newberry College.
De Vries earned her Master of Science degree in Respiratory Care from Northeastern University and is now pursuing her PhD in Educational Leadership at Northcentral University in San Diego. In addition to her education, De Vries brings years of experience working in neonatal and pediatric intensive care as well as adult critical care.
“Embarking on this new chapter as the VP of Education for AARC is not only an enormous honor, but a powerful opportunity,” said De Vries. “I look forward to promoting respiratory education, nurturing a culture of continued learning, and ultimately uplifting respiratory therapists. This journey, I am sure, is going to be both challenging and fulfilling!”
Mandy’s passion and commitment to advancing respiratory care have been inspiring! Proven by her immense dedication and lasting impact on the organization, her promotion is a testament to her hard work, driven nature, and innovative spirit.
