With the availability of vaccines to combat COVID-19, it is important to educate the public through an open dialogue that promotes effective communication, supports the science behind the development process, addresses health equity issues, and builds confidence in those who are skeptical about their value.
The AARC has recently joined over 100 organizations to support the COVID-19 Vaccine Education and Equity Project. Its core values, according to the project’s website, include:
- Providing education on, and advocating for, adherence to a gold-standard regulatory review process.
- Raising awareness around the importance of COVID-19 vaccination for public health, the economy, and the broader society.
- Promoting the impact of widespread COVID-19 vaccination uptake in protecting individuals, families, and communities.
- Leading a conversation that helps ensure equitable access to authorized and approved vaccines through equitable access to information and dialogue.
The AARC supports the overall mission of the project which is committed to amplifying activities and project-approved materials around its core values. By becoming a partner in this important endeavor, our organization’s name and logo will be used on campaign materials, including the COVID-19 Vaccine Education and Equity Project’s website, social media channels, and press releases, thus raising the visibility of our association and respiratory therapists in support of our horizon goals.
