In this episode of Big Ideas Theater, Paul Miniter, MS, discusses his experience as a patient battling Pulmonary Hypertension (PH). Paul has been using his experience as a patient to help clinicians better understand how to relate to their patients with the ailment.
Paul explains that diagnosing patients is the biggest battle with PH. Understanding what your patients are experiencing and being able to connect the dots is hard with PH due to the symptoms being subtle and varying from patient to patient.
Once a patient is diagnosed with PH they can take the necessary steps to manage their symptoms. Paul discusses what his everyday life is like with PH and the practical steps he uses to ensure he gets the most out of his daily life. Paul also discusses the changes in treatments and medications for those with PH in recent years.
