As part of the Big Ideas Theater 2019, Stacey Cutts, BS, RRT, VA-BC, discusses her journey in starting a Respiratory Driven Vascular Access Program at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, along with the importance of these programs.
Cutts explains how she used a model, which she had seen work in a facility in Arizona and after moving to Dallas, TX. decided to implement this model at UT Southwestern. The program is now three years old and has been very successful. Cutts discusses how she used AARC position statements and other resources to convince C-Suite to implement the idea and gives advice to other respiratory therapists who would like to implement this program at their own facility.
