Elizabeth Summitt, RRT, is a respiratory therapist at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis, IN and shared her experience as a mother of a patient in a recent WTHR feature story. Summitt’s son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes six years ago. According to Summitt, this journey has changed her as a person and a clinician.


The harmonica group trend for respiratory patients is booming across the country. Stephanie Moen, a respiratory therapist and clinical educator at Kaweah Delta’s Respiratory Therapy Department, helps lead a harmonica group through their Better Breather’s Support Group. Keena Rollins, AAS, RRT, of Delaware was named Employee of the Month for Nanticoke Health Services. Rollins began her career with Nanticoke in 2011, where she is known as a role model with a magnetic personality. Read more about Rollins and her achievement in the Sussex Living article.


Phil Sandlin, RRT and his wife Mildred, an RN, turned their attention to their community this past holiday season by organizing a collection drive for toys, personal items and food. All donations benefitted those in need. Read more about their collection drive at the Community Common web article.


Nicolette Gabrielson, BSRT, RRT, from Fairbanks Memorial Hospital in Alaska, shared her expertise on the dangers of smoking and the benefits of quitting the habit in a KTVF broadcast about the nearby Bassett Army Hospital’s change to be a tobacco-free campus.
