Good Press spotlights AARC members mentioned in the news media at a local and national level. Here is the latest list of news makers:

Tonya Winders shares some great information about school-related hazards for children with asthma and allergies in an article in Lung Disease News. “For parents of children with asthma, the first step is to speak with an allergist to identify what causes your child’s symptoms and develop an Asthma Action Plan, then work with the school to reduce exposure and keep your child healthy,” she was quoted as saying.

Roxanne “Rocky” Rupar receives kudos for being named Employee of the Month in this article in the Summersville, MO, Beacon. “Rocky is an absolute joy to work with because she is 100 percent committed to any job or task that she’s asked to do,” her department director was quoted as saying.

Bob Vega does a great job of explaining what draws students to the career of respiratory care in this video on the KHON-TV website out of Hawaii.

Tammy Miller talks about the merger of her RT program with another in her state in this article in the Thomasville, GA, Times-Enterprise honoring the last graduating class from the current program. “While this is a ‘bittersweet’ occasion for these graduates, the merged college will facilitate exciting opportunities for future expansion of the respiratory care program,” she was quoted as saying.

Kathee Ford’s RT program is acknowledged for receiving CoARC’s Distinguished RRT Credentialing Success Award in this article in the Ledger out of Lakeland, FL. “And that’s nice because that puts us in the top 14th or 15th percentile of best in the nation,” she was quoted as saying.

Jeffery Bieber was just inducted into his high school’s 12th Man Gridiron Club Hall of Fame and this article on Milfordlive.com out of Milford, DE, covers his glory days on the playing field. “He was a natural leader on the field, he knew what he was doing and the other players knew it too,” his former coach was quoted as saying.

Carrie Bates talks about the smoky air currently plaguing her community and the effect it is having on patients in this article in the Daily Inter Lake and this article and video on the KTVQ-TV website, both out of Montana. “Patients are coming in saying that the air quality is so poor; I’ve never seen it this bad,” she was quoted as saying.
