High flow nasal cannula (HFNC) is no longer a solution looking for a problem. Instead, it has shown to be a supportive therapy that is both safe and effective in various clinical situations. This presentation will review the current literature support for the use of high flow nasal cannula, the mechanism of action that impacts work of breathing/gas exchange, and patient selection considerations.
