Respiratory Therapist’s Vital Role as Disease Manager

Respiratory Therapists are vital to your interdisciplinary teams and serve a primary role in disease management. When RTs are positioned as the major physician partners in the management of COPD, they help reduce readmissions and length of stay for patients in-hospital and through at-home and long-termcare.

That’s why the AARC recommends that CMS continue to allow and expand important virtual/telehealth respiratory care services of the public health emergency (PHE), and ultimately make them permanent. AARC also urges the Senate to pass the Advancing Telehealth Beyond COVID-19 act this fall.

From neonatal/pediatrics to adult long-term care, RTs are found in all aspects of patient care. But there is a critical shortage. We’ve created this video for you to safely download and use on your social channels. Help spread the word, because The World Needs More RTs.
