In this episode of Big Ideas Theater, Andrew G. Miller, BSRT, RRT, RRT-ACCS, RRT-NPS, of Duke University Medical Center discusses the three pillars of professional burnout. Burnout tends to be contagious and impacts not only you but effects your colleagues and patients.

Miller discusses how the climate you work in can ultimately determine your chances of work-place burnout. The Duke Health Safety Center website has steps you can use to take-action against experiences against the threat of burnout. Being able to see the small positive things in your environment over time can help create a more positive outlook on your workday.

This interview also discusses how to see that your colleagues are experiencing burnout and how team leaders can engage with their teams and boost morale.
