The Halifax County Board of Health named Bruce Robistow, MPH, RRT as its new director. Robistow’s previous experience ranges from serving as vice president of the Halifax Regional Medical Center, a combat medic for the U.S. Marine Corps as a Navy Corpsman, and a respiratory therapist. Ken Czechowicz, MS, RRT, director of clinical education for respiratory therapy at River Valley Community College, and Kevin Krawiec, M.Ed., RRT, associate professor and program director, along with their team, recently received new manikins to enhance their new simulation lab. According to the press release, the realistic manikins – SimMan, SimMom, SimBaby, and Nursing Anne – can be programmed by the instructors to simulate different medical conditions and symptoms.
