This article on the Sierra Wave Media website out of California highlights Kevin Christensen’s RT department in honor of RC Week, citing the many services they offer, including pulmonary function testing, EKGs, and smoking cessation counseling.

Tracy Simpson receives great RC Week coverage for her department in this article in the Memphis, MO, Democrat. “Respiratory therapy is a wonderful field for anyone who enjoys science and technology and likes helping people,” she was quoted as saying.

Vickie Lee makes the case that vaping is not a good alternative to traditional smoking cessation methods in this letter to the editor in the Detroit Lakes, MN, Tribune. “Why would anyone want to take a chance on e-cigarettes when we already have tools that are safe and scientifically proven to work?” she wrote.

Jane McKay is pictured in this article in the Greenfield, MA, Recorder about a local health fair for children with a name only a kid could love — “Blood and Guts” has been held at the town library every year since 2001. Jane was there to show the kids how to measure oxygen levels in their blood.

Manny Esh’s medical supply company is profiled in this Q&A in the Leigh Valley Business out of Bethlehem, PA. Manny has been an AARC member since 1972.

Lynda Ferris and her pulmonary rehabilitation team are credited with helping one of their patients make a dream trip to Ireland in this article in the Rome, NY, Sentinel. “One of Jay’s primary goals upon starting the program was to be able to walk 2-3 miles and to handle the demands of his trip,” she was quoted as saying. “We worked with Jay on building his endurance and learning breathing techniques to help him deal with and reduce his shortness of breath.”

Peter Hendriksen is noted as a new member of the Florida Board of Occupational Therapy Practice in this article in Florida Politics. Peter was appointed to the board by Gov. Rick Scott.
