AARC Members Glenda Pippin, BSRT, RRT, RRT-NPS, CPFT, Janice Dunaway, MS, RRT, Sherry Whiteman, MS, RRT, and Caleb Lewis, BS, RRT worked together to develop new textbooks for the school’s simulation mannequins. The group was featured in a feature article in the Joplin Globe. Read the story.

Abdulrahman Alsulaiman, Minahal Baig, Mohammed Bin Daeag, and Kikelomo Ojo, all seniors from the Kansas University Medical Center, under the mentorship of Karen Schell, DHSc, RRT-NPS, RPFT, presented their work at the Kansas Undergraduate Research Day at the Capitol. Rheanda Axtman, BS, RRT, was featured in the Willston Herald as part of the Williston Herald’s inaugural 20 Under 40 recognition program. Read the story.


Indiana State Representative Ron Bacon, CRT, is pushing a bill that would that would require coaches (of interscholastic or intramural sports) to complete an education course on heat-related medical issues that may arise from an athlete’s training. Read the story.

Angela Pack, CRT, a respiratory therapist at St. Mary’s Hospital in Idaho, discussed the value of cardiac rehabilitation for patients in an article from the Idaho County Free Press. Read the story.


Zach Quinby, BS, RRT, RRT-NPS, a respiratory therapist with the Children’s Hospital Flight Team in Colorado, was recently invited to a special 1st birthday party. When the family of ‘Miracle Baby’ Addy celebrated her first birthday, they made sure to include Quinby so he could follow-up on a deal he made with her a year ago. The Odessa American featured Sharla Free, RRT, in an article where she discussed pulmonary fibrosis and the value of pulmonary rehabilitation. Read the story.


Both VerticalMag.com and the 1st Responder Broadcast Network included features announcing Tim Bell, CRT, as the Larry Griffin Paramedic of the Year in Tennessee.


Mark Hiller, BA, RRT-NPS, recently shared a story with The Traverse City Record-Eagle about his encounter with a man who collapsed during a music rehearsal. Hiller was one of three bystanders who jumped in to save the 77-year-old man. Read the story.


Mary Hart, MS, RRT, FAARC, was featured in an NBC DFW Channel 5 broadcast about the value harmonicas have in strengthening patient lungs. Watch the video.


Virginia Landers, RRT, RPFT, of Illinois was featured in The Times for being named Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers’ first Fire Starter of the Month in the new year. Putting patients first and constantly engaging them was noted by her co-worker on why she deserved the honor. Read the story.
