Lee ClintonChanda Kolousek receives kudos from one of her pulmonary rehab patients in this article in the Huron, SD, Plainsman. “Chanda was fantastic, very motivating and really was the key to helping me change my attitude,” COPD patient Joanne Hamilton was quoted as saying. “She encouraged me and told me to pace myself – but just keep moving.” Says Chanda, “That’s really my job – to teach the patient and cheer them on. The patient does the hard work and makes the changes.”
Geri Twomey credits everyone on her faculty for helping her students achieve the highest pass rate on their credentialing exams in Massachusetts in an article on the Northshore Community College website. “It is truly a team effort to achieve outstanding results on not only the entry level exam but the advanced credential exam as well,” she was quoted as saying.
Timothy Bantle talks about his hospital’s first pediatric ECMO transport in this article on the University of Florida Health website. “The collaborative effort was seamless,” the RT supervisor and transport team member was quoted as saying. “From the driver to the nurse to the paramedic . . . everyone worked well together, and everyone played their part.”

Amy Bardin-Spencer has received the 2016 Suzanne LaVere Herbst Award for Excellence in Vascular Access from the Association for Vascular Access (AVA), reports an article on the AVA website. Among other accomplishments, Amy pioneered the first RT-based PICC teams and first RT-based central venous access programs in Arizona.
Alysse T. Teixeira’s efforts to collect much needed supplies for moms-to-be is the topic of this article on MassLive.com out of Western Massachusetts. “I believe they deserve to receive the support they need, especially those impoverished or low-income women,” the RT student was quoted as saying.
