After three years with AARC, Addie Schiefer is moving into a new role as our Director of Engagement and Media, within the Marketing and Communications team. In this new role, Addie will lead multimedia and content development, and help refresh our approach to optimize engagement with AARC content while supporting strategic plan efforts.

“I’m incredibly honored to be stepping into this role and am excited to serve our membership in a greater capacity,” Addie said. “I’m thrilled for this next stage in my career and for what’s to come in our future engagement with members.”

Addie brings an innate sense to connecting with members through open, clear, two-way communication,” says Ellen Worsham, VP, Marketing and Communications. Her knowledge from previous experience with AARC, combined with her fresh ideas for content delivery will help advance our goals to engage and elevate our members in interesting new ways. It’s wonderful to have the opportunity to promote from within the AARC organization!

Addie began her AARC career as Communications Coordinator, later transitioning to Content Manager to better fit the goals of the association. Prior to AARC, Addie spent two years in the corporate communications arena, where she focused on highlighting the work of employees, as well as, company accomplishments, and improving internal communications. Before that, she interned with Interstate Batteries where she focused on social media and marketing.

This experience and her dedicated work with the AARC membership gives her the opportunity to hit the ground running in her new role.

Addie was promoted after fellow AARC employee Heather Willden moved into the role of Director of Governance and Strategic Initiatives.

“Addie has been an absolute asset to the AARC,” said Heather Willden, director of governance and strategic initiatives. “Addie has been instrumental in expanding content channels for AARC, such as strengthening our social media channels, managing Be An RT communications, producing videos, and plenty more. Congratulations Addie!”

Addie received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas where she majored in Mass Communications and minored in both Business Administration and Christian Studies. When she is not working, you can find her camping with her husband and dog in Arkansas where she resides, listening to her favorite true crime podcast, or reading a good book.
