AARC Joins Others in Bringing New Pulmonary Rehabilitation Reimbursement Toolkit to RTs Everywhere

 Published: July 12, 2023

In partnership with the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, American Thoracic Society and American College of Chest Physicians, the AARC has developed a new Pulmonary Rehabilitation Reimbursement Toolkit. This Toolkit aims to help RTs improve reimbursement for pulmonary rehabilitation services. Furthermore, it gives hospital-based providers tools, insights, and resources regarding payment for Medicare’s comprehensive pulmonary rehabilitation benefit implemented by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and new CPT codes for pulmonary rehabilitation that became effective January 1, 2022.

By implementing this toolkit, hospitals will carefully consider all the services, supplies, and equipment that are integral to the provision of pulmonary rehabilitation services encompassed in G0424. They will also establish appropriate charges reflective of that scope of services when they submit a claim to Medicare for payment.
