She will assist the Editor-in-Chief and the Managing Editor, specifically in the area of narrative and systematic reviews submitted to the Journal. Dr. Li is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cardiopulmonary Sciences at Rush University in Chicago, IL. She has been a respiratory therapist for more than 16 years and is active academically, with more than 40 peer-reviewed publications in 24 journals. She serves as a reviewer for 20 journals, including Respiratory Care.

Over the past 10 years there has been a 4-fold increase in the number of unsolicited manuscripts submitted to Respiratory Care. This underscores the worldwide interest in the Journal. The Section Editor, in addition to the intern position started last year, opens the Journal operation to additional individuals. We are hopeful that this will prepare individuals for a greater role in the Journal in the future. This is an exciting opportunity, not only for the individuals selected, but also for the Journal staff.
