More than 150 respiratory therapists from nearly all 50 states and the District of Columbia will be going to Washington DC on April 12 to meet with members of Congress. They will be lobbying for the Medicare Telehealth Parity Act, an important piece of legislation that expands Medicare telehealth services to include respiratory therapists as telehealth practitioners. The Act also includes coverage of respiratory services and remote patient monitoring and training for patients with COPD through an interactive telecommunications system.

Mark Your Calendar for Virtual Lobby Week
All respiratory therapists can help play a role in the success of these DC-bound RTs and advocates. By participating in AARC’s Virtual Lobby Week, your emails, phone calls or letters will reinforce the message that these politically active RT volunteers will be delivering in face-to-face meetings with senators and representatives.
Keep a watch for a call to action next week and be ready to write your letters to Congress, supporting this bill and the PACT members who have worked hard to advocate for the profession and for patients.
